Description: Here's what I believe to be Pre-Columbian Nayarit figure having a hunchback seated form. I recently had an expert of tribal antiquities inspect this piece and he thought it was actually an old artifact based on other examples he has seen over the years. There are concretions and sediment lodged in the surface and holes throughout. When I acquired this piece there was the remnants of a wooden base glued to the bottom which I removed because it wouldn't stand on it own. Some old glue residue still resides on the bottom as pictured . I'm no expert on Nayarit art so please use the pictures to judge age and condition for yourself. There are no repairs I can find. Some bubbles in the terra cotta from the old pottery process. There a small kiln drying crack on the back of the top of head which I tried to picture. If you have any pictures or need additional photos please feel free to contact me. Being sold as is as described as pictured due to age. Thanks for looking!
