Description: Vintage Portmeirion Birds Of Britain Teacup And Saucer, Long Tailed Tit And Marsh Tit, Designed By Susan Williams-Ellis.This lovely teacup and saucer from the long discontinued Birds of Britain range features the Long Tailed Tit And Marsh Tit as the main design and a green-grey band border.Susan Williams-Ellis originally conceived the idea for a Birds Of Britain range in 1974. The beautiful and highly decorative illustrations were taken from the book 'Natural History Of British Birds' by E. Donovan. The range launched in 1977, initially exclusively to John Lewis in the UK and Bitossi in Italy.2-piece set including cup and saucer. No chips. The cup is 2.5" tall and 3.25" in diameter at the lip. The saucer is 6" in diameter.
