Description: It is a portfolio of Illustrations by Fritz Eichenberg, noted artist of Christian religious themes especially in the woodcut medium, first published in the Catholic Worker from the 1940s to 1980s, consisting of the following 12 prints: Joan of Arc 1953 The long Loneliness 1952 The Christ of the Breadlines 1950 (copyright 1952) The Lord's Supper 1951 The Christ of the Homeless 1982 The Light 1940 Nativity 1950 The Lamentations of Jeremiah 1960 Pieta 1954 Sermon To The Birds 1964 St Francis and His Little Brothers 1954 The Casting of the Lots 1954 All measure 17 by 13”; the first ten are on heavy off white card; the last two (St Francis and His Little Brothers and the Casting of the Lots) are published by The Thistle Press, New York, on a slightly lighter paper and the paper is a bit darker in coloration. These come in a matching folder which has information on the artist and his work: see photo #2. Condition of the prints graded as FINE; The portfolio and interior prints are used, but very gently, and all the prints are clean, fresh and unmarked, a couple perhaps showing a slight bit of wear on edges. We are offering these as a collection of TWELVE plus the outer folder with the information, and we would request that you do not ask that we divide these and sell individual prints separately at this time.
