(lighting did make a difference in color as shown in photos) This listing is for a polished slab of Deschutes Jasper or Deschutes Picture Jasper from Oregon. Deschutes Jasper was found just west of the famous Biggs Picture Jasper in Biggs Junction, Oregon. It is a fine porcelain jasper that takes a high polish. If you are familiar with working with Biggs, Deschutes is very similar but tends to be a little harder, MOHS around 7. This is another material that is considered "extinct" since the deposit is located in a state park and under a highway. This piece was obtained from a collector, and features a gorgeous landscape scene with tiny dendrites. It is polished on one side and ready to be displayed. (See video) It can also be used for lapidary purposes as it is untreated and large enough to yield multiple cabochons. Also, the unpolished side is just as pretty as the polished side. There is a small white spot in upper right corner of the polished side, which appears to be some residual polish. I didn't want to clean the slab with any chemicals so it was only rinsed in water and dryed with microfiber for photos. Dimensions are approximately 5.6" x 2.6" (see photos) and 4.03mm thick. Please note this is in an unpolished piece. Weighs 70.5 grams. Items will ship within 1-2 business days. Please ask if you have any other questions. Thank you! *Please note - While we don't accept returns on items sold, we do want you to be happy with your purchase.
