Published by Harper & Brothers, Publishers - Franklin Square, New York. 1881 First Edition. Robert Herrick (24 August 1591 – 15 October 1674) was a 17th-century English lyric poet and cleric. Edwin Austin Abbey RA (April 1, 1852 – August 1, 1911) was an American muralist, illustrator, and painter. He flourished at the beginning of what is now referred to as the "golden age" of illustration, and is best known for his drawings and paintings of Shakespearean and Victorian subjects, as well as for his painting of Edward VII's coronation. This book is approximately 9 1/2" x 12" , with silk boards. Overall, the book is in Fair Condition. The boards have stains, the silk is torn and fraying. The edges are scuffed and fraying. There is tape on the bumped corners. Both boards are loose and the spine is cracked. The silk on the spine is torn and discolored. There is tape inside the front board. Internally, there are 188 pages. All of the pages are present, but some of them are loose. The book is split between pages 32/33. From page 33-188 - that section is loose from the book. There is wear - spotting and browning to the pages. Pencil writing on the front end page. Some Edwin A. Abbey newspaper clippings are pasted on the rear end pages.
