This allows the amplifier to be in control of the drivers to keep the sound tight and controlled. The highs and mid are very lush and clear. Very transparent. This amplifier will reveal components in the signal chain that may be lacking in terms of sound quality. It is a very uncolored sound signature. The bass has weight, impact, excellent transients, and quality while remaining controlled and never sounding boomy. The phono stage in this amplifier can be switched by taking the top cover off of the amp and moving the jumpers on the phono input board. It is set to Moving Magnet from the factory but can easily be switched to Moving Coil. You can also switch between high gain and low gain depending on your needs for the cartridge you choose to use. One of the speaker output posts was broken off when I received the amplifier. I still have it after all of these years and included a picture of the piece that I am referring to. This can be fixed relatively easy and cheaply. The amp will be double boxed and insured before shipping.
