Description: Picturesque Egypt, Antique, Illustrated, G. Ebers,. This is a very large, 12” x 15”, heavy, beautifully and generously illustrated book from Cassell Publishing circa 1878. It is volume two of a two volume set originally published in Germany. 380+ fantastic illustrations/engravings by various artists. 388 pages in total. Binding is good, text block edge is gilded all around and is clean and bright. The book has had hinge repair front and back. Overall the pages are very clean, white, no marks, folds, etc…..with the exception of the first few and last pages. The first 4-5 pages have scattered, light spotting. A couple have rough edges. The last 4-5 pages of the book are the same. The exterior is good. Corner bumps, minimal soiling, spine cover is rubbed and the bottom of it is frayed. A couple of dings on the board edges.
