Description: This listing is for a single vintage Philips AD 0162 T8 1 inch dome tweeter (although multiple are available) removed from some Bang & Olufsen Beovox S45-2 speakers. Philips, the Dutch electronics giant, made drivers for many other quality speaker brands, foreign and domestic, such as AVID, Infinity, HH Scott, even ALTEC-LANSING. These Philips tweeters are in clean, excellent condition. The polycarbonate domes are perfect, having been well-protected under the acoustically transparent grates. Plus, there are no scratches or cracks on the thick plastic faceplate. And, the +/- terminals are keyed for polarity, and I’ve left several inches of input wire soldered in place for the new owner’s convenience in spicing-in to their speaker. Overall, this high frequency driver is very well preserved. Most importantly, these have been fully tested and sound terrific—very clear and detailed with plenty of beyond-audibility “sparkle” with its 22kHz ceiling. Plus, it’s rated to 80W power handling with its large ceramic magnet structure. And, I tested their DC resistance at ~7.0Ω, right in line with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the faceplate measures 3 11/16” in diameter, it stands about 1¼” tall, and the three mounting holes are spaced 2 15/16” apart. This is a super find for someone with a blown or damaged AD 0162 T8 tweeter in their B&O S45, S45-2, or other suitable speaker(s).
