Description: Officer Jaime Roman Memorial Patch. $10 eachAll proceeds will be donated to the "Jaime Roman Memorial Fund".Patches sponsored by L3 Harris and Uniform GearOn June 22nd, Philadelphia Police Officers Jaime Roman and his partner were conducting a vehicle stop in the Kensington section of the city. The vehicle was found to be unregistered and the driver unlicensed, so a tow truck was called for it to be impounded. A firearm holster was observed on the floor by one of the officers as an inventory of the vehicle was being conducted. When they attempted to ask the driver about it, he took off running. The male pulled out a gun and fired three shots at the officers as they gave chase. One of those rounds struck Officer Roman in the neck. Jaime’s partner returned fire and immediately rendered aid before rushing him to Temple University Hospital in their patrol car. The suspect was taken into custody later that same evening after forcing his way into a nearby home at gunpoint. Officer Roman remained in intensive care for 80 days, valiantly fighting for his life. Sadly, Jaime succumbed to his injuries on September 10th, surrounded by his family.Officer Jaime Roman served the Philadelphia Police Department for just under 7 years and was assigned to the 25th District. He leaves behind a loving wife and two young children. From his wife:“Jaime enjoyed doing anything outdoors. He’d always find things to work on in the yard. He loved building Legos with our son, and they would buy a new set every other week. He was so proud to be a police officer. Jaime never lost the excitement to put on his blue shirt and go to work. He’d stare in the mirror every time as if it was his first time putting that uniform and badge on. Jaime was the BEST husband, father and the most selfless person I know. He put everyone and everything before himself, even on his lowest days. He was very patient with us at home and was a strong and respectful man all around. He just LOVED taking care of his family and serving the community he grew up in.”Officer Roman was 31-years old.
