The mesa quepe is essential because all the items are set on it. This Cloth was woven in the community of Huacawasi, located in the mountains north of Calca (Sacred Valley) - Cusco. This mastana has birds, horses, llama, puma, house, a sun, and geometrical designs. The designs are reversible, these textiles are used traditionally as altar cloths for one's "mesa" (or shamanic altar) or as a surface for doing coca leaf divination.
