Description: Region/Country of Purchase: Handcrafted in Cusco, Peru Culture: Incan Dimensions: (See size comparison to U.S. quarter in photos) Origin and Impact: Our business model is designed to mutually benefit our customers, ourselves and the locals, in our travels. If we hadn't purchased this item from the vendor to resell in another country, they would not have made money from this transaction. Therefore, by being part of this system, our customers are contributing to the process that took place, which helped the vendor earn a living and support their family. We appreciate all of our customers and we sincerely thank you for not only helping us to make a living, but also these artisans who may have otherwise had no way to share their products with the world. Story of this Item: This item was purchased by myself, directly from a local artisan in Cusco, Peru. It was hand-crafted from materials in that region. By purchasing this item, you are indirectly supporting the livelihood of local business owners and artisans in Peru. Care instructions: 1.) Once you've finished smoking your pipe, use a pipe tool to gently loosen the ash. 2.) Run a pipe cleaner through the stem and into the bowl. 3.) Place the pipe bowl-down to allow it to cool and dry properly. *Disclaimer: These are general care instructions I found online. I have no experience using a pipe myself so please use your own discernment, if you have other methods that have worked for you. What do we use the profits from our eBay Store for? Hi! I'm David Robinson! My wife, Megan, and I travel the world full-time. While we are out here, we are looking for unique and interesting items to purchase from small businesses, share with the world and make a little extra money to help fund our travels. We originally created this eBay Store under the name "Robingoodies" and with its success, sold everything we owned so we could travel the world full-time, back in December of 2022. We revamped this eBay store under the name "Birdfoot Company" as a way to help fund our travels and adventures, while also helping the local economy and small businesses in the regions of our travels. We saw so many unique, hand-crafted works of art in Ollantaytambo at the local markets, that I wanted to find a way to make them accessible to people all over the world, not only those were are able to travel to Peru or happen to stumble upon these hidden gems. We highly recommend Peru on your next South American travel adventure. If you plan to visit Cusco, please know that it is 11,000 feet above sea level and we recommend taking a few days to acclimate before doing anything intense. It is not flat anywhere and you will be walking up and down constantly, anywhere you go. We recommend first visiting Ollantaytambo, not only for the beautiful culture, scenery and of course, Inca Ruins, but also to help acclimate. It is only 9,000 feet above sea level and will help tremendously in the acclimation process:) A few days here first, you should be well-prepared to explore Cusco with minimal side-effects or altitude sickness. We thank you for considering purchasing any items from our Peruvian collection and rather you choose to buy something or not, we're grateful that you took the time learn a little bit about Peru and could see a few examples of what Peruvian artisans have to offer:) We've obviously marked the prices up from what we paid for them at the local markets in order to make money for our efforts and fund our adventures but we still recommend visiting Ollantaytambo yourself and buying from them first hand:) We hope to use this platform to help bring awareness to these amazing places since tourism is a huge part of their economy and culture.
