PATRIOTIC Antique American Frit " GOD BLESS AMERICAN " Art Glass Paperweight

Description: OUR DESCRIPTION Magnum Size and a Splendid Antique American Frit " GOD BLESS AMERICA " Art Glass Paperweight over a Clear Ground. (Pre 1900) There is some light scratches here and there, which I consider normal wear for a piece this old. This one has 3 small dings, see Yellow arrows in last 2 pictures #8 & 9. I also see a large area that has air bubbles that came to the surface and popped (see Yellow circle in picture #7.) when this amazing piece was created. This is a Nice Patriotic Motif Art Glass Paperweight that consists of Red Letters and a Yellow Colored Flag hanging from a flag pole. Please keep in mind that any of these minor flaws can easily be professionally polished away if you so desire. I would consider this Lovely Work of Art Glass to be in Fair Original Antique Condition. I have not seen many of these over the years and they are scarce as best I can tell. The concave bottom shows heavy shelf wear to the basal rim. This is a MAGNUM Size Paperweight and it measures 3" Diameter by 2 3/4" Tall. Please check pictures for further description. There's a lot of sand in the soil, and sand (silica) is what is melted to make glass. Many of the glass makers migrated to this area from Europe in and around the late 1790’s thru the mid 1800’s. There were so many in this area at the time, New England Glass, Sandwich, Boston, Gillinder, Pairpoint and Millville just to name a few. Glass factories have been here for over 200 years, but it wasn't until the late 1960s that someone decided to call attention to it. That someone was Frank Wheaton Jr., grandson of the founder of Wheaton Industries, one of the biggest companies in glassmaking.
