Description: For your consideration, Dr4 Watches has on offer a fairly rare Panerai Luminor Daylight Chronograph with a white dial, reference # PAM00251, fine timepiece. This is one cool modern military timepiece that just "looks the business" on the wrist. I find for sunnier days that I reach for white dial timepieces and also for when I go snow skiing. With the chronograph function, I can time my ski runs... or how long it takes the nice ski bunny Barista to make me a doppio espresso. It just feels and looks even more right to me in white for the sun or the snow. And since I mentioned "Sun", we are including a bonus Miami Blue strap. These pair wonderfully well with the brilliant white dial (see picture #4 - to be uploaded soon).Of course, Panerai Luminor models, including this chronograph, are "strap monsters" in that they are versatile and flexible for a variety of duties and looks. Put this on a black leather and you have a killer look under a black leather jacket. Put it on the nice "Miami Vice" or "Marina" or "Light Blue" rubber strap and hit up a beachside bar or restaurant. Also check out TMosso's YT video on this one (PAM00251) as he extolls the virtues of this one in a great review video. You also get to see it on a brown alligator leather strap and the versatility will come together in your mind. Of course we are bringing the best value on the internet because we tirelessly source our inventory and inspect very closely upon receipt for quality and authenticity. We are extremely thorough in our listings and we still absolutely encourage questions regarding the timepieces. If you have questions regarding the specifications, provenance, history, etc., no problem. Just ask if you have a question! We only deal in 100% real watches because reputation is critical for us and in this industry in particular. We always have the inventory in our possession. We do not do the broker thing. The condition of this watch is as follows: Pre-owned in excellent condition. I would rate this cool timepiece at 96%. Panerai needs no introduction but if you are not familiar with their timekeeping history definitely read-up on it as it is fascinating. The short version is: Pre-WW2, WW2 instrument manufacturer, legitimate frogmen applications, distinctive Italian style with both the Luminor and Radiomir models as the best known. Quietly cranked along post WW2 only to be resurrected by none other than Sylvester Stalone. Became a hit brand in the 1990s with Hollywood elite action heroes and lady killers, ultimately resurrected by the Richemont Group and has thrived happily ever after. And the Daylight is a unique, kind of rare and fantastic piece that adds to the Panerai lore. Let me explain. A Panerai was frequently spotted in the movie, Daylight, and from that appearance Panerai greatly enhanced its world-wide marketability. While it was previously only known by really dedicated watch enthusiasts, the movie made the brand go mainstream. This chronograph, with the Daylight front and back-side branding, resulted from the increased popularity. Because we only want timepiece customers who are delighted with their purchase, we strive to add some additional insight to help you make a great timepiece decision. With that in mind, some additional considerations about this watch include: 1. This watch is large at 44mm and works well on medium to large wrists. It brings a modern oversized look and I can recommend this watch for somebody with a wrist size of 6+5/8 inches in circumference and larger. I have an average size wrist (at 7+1/4") and this watch works well on my wrist. The bracelet will fit up to a 7+1/2 inch wrist with all of the links that I have. It gets worn about 3 times a month in the Spring and Summer. And then occassionally in the Fall and Winter where I pair it with a black leather jacket and a white t-shirt. My wife totally digs this look on me... so sometimes you have to give the people what they want. One key thing to note is that this primiarly a brushed stainless steel watch. This makes it more rugged looking and premium and is somewhat distinctive to this specific reference.2. This is peculiar watch that makes a retro military kind of statement. Rock this to your next Zoom call or to your tech business and you evoke the military tough guys from WW1... due to the iconic Luminor case... but still with a touch of luxury that the white dial and very well lumed dot indices bring to the table. This particular stainless reference puts a premium on readibility, durability and versatility while throwing off a distinct "man of action" (e.g., Sylvestor Stallone in Daylight) style aesthetic. Interestingly, this is the only reference with the dot indices. Super cool as the indices carry the circular theme of the dial (e.g., the dial itself, the tri-compac registers and then the dot indices). 3. A quick and humorous note about the movie Daylight. It scores a paltry 26% on the Rotten Tomatoes "Tomatometer." And the "Critics Consensus" reads "The opening's got a great fiery explosion and Stallone put in another earnest, sympatheic performance, but all else in Daylight feels designed to annoy the audience into submission." The watch does the opposite in my book. It feels designed to delight the wearer into sporting, retro euphoria. I think they call that "flipping the script." 4. All of the Daylight chronographs to my knowledge use the Valjoux 7753 chronograph movement --- the definitive rock solid, easy to service, Swiss made chronograph movement. Tank tough. The Chevy V-8 of the Swiss Made Chronograph movement world. Not the sexiest movement but it is a great movement, it has hacking seconds and it allowed for Panerai to focus the majority of the cost for these on the dial, bezel, bracelet, hands and indices. One final thing, the 7753 is a premium and C.O.S.C. certified Valjoux movement so it is premium among the Valjoux 7750 family having met the C.O.S.C. standards for chronometry timing. Impressive. 5. These are increasingly rare and just plain rare to begin with. The J Series dates the watch production to 2007 and this is one of the only 1,000 watches made that year for this reference. And any watch collector would seriously struggle to find one in this good a condition AND on the bracelet. I was delighted to scoop this one up, enjoy it and now eventually decided to part ways with it. The white with the dot indices is certainly rarer than the more standard black or blue with baton style indices. This translates to increased collectibility and increased appreciation potential. 6. The watch also features the iconic Panerai Luminor half-moon trigger guard which acts as a protective barrier to the crown. Worked well for 1940's Italian military frogman and works exceedingly well even now. The design has been tweaked over the past 80 years but the basic engineering premise still shines through in this reference. This one takes the design a step further with integrated pushers for the chronograph. These pushers are almost hidden which is a wonderful bit of design. It also adds additional heft to the watch and stance across the wrist. This one is probably the most manly of the Daylight chronographs... certainly a strong fit for Stallone or Arnold Schwanegger or Bruce Willis or Brad Pitt. All of those dudes are huge "Paneristis." 7. A wonderful engraved tachymeter bezel brings a serious sporting flair to the piece. Think of this as a Swiss Italian alternative to the 'Rollie Daytona. 8. The bracelet is super-premium on this one: the one with the repeating Luminor half-moon link set-up. This is the expensive bracelet --- as in $1,200+ just for the bracelet! And it has the quick change feature which is awesome. One uses the two little buttons on the underside of the lugs to facilitate a strap change. All Panerai Luminor watches are "strap monsters" so go crazy with additional straps and looks with this one. 9. Rounding our the listing and the package is a nice Panerai Pearwood box that came with the watch when I received it. We do not offer a warranty but will work with you to make any post-purchase repairs via advice on where to go and what to do (with no profit for us but paid for by you). Everything we sell is working fine for all functions when it leaves our facility (or more specifically the safe deposit box where our watches reside). In some cases, we can go back to our source and get the watch repaired for free based on our relationship and reputation. We should always be the first port-of-call if there is an issue. 100% delighted customers so far and we aim to keep it that way. Please examine the pictures, what you see is what you get. The only exceptions are the black case that we photoraph on and the English Bull Dog which we put in our group shots because we think it looks great. The Bull Dog is a James Bond tie-in and we kind of really like James Bond. And finally, we are an Atlanta based business but we also operate out of North Florida (some inventory in both places) as I like to include my brother in the business some. Thank you for your consideration, Steve
