Description: Panama La Esmeralda GEISHA coffee beans Roasted to Order whole, ground or green (raw) 8oz by Muth Rosten Haus, Ellen Muth One of the most successful coffee beans in the world is The Panamanian La Esmeralda Hacienda GEISHA (aka GESHA) bean. Originally grown as an heirloom in Ethiopia, it was not recognized as anything special until it was sent to and discovered by Panama and Costa Rica. However, it was Hacienda farm in Boquete Panama that created the Gold standard Geisha bean, "La Esmeralda Geisha," that deemed it the most successful and lucrative bean it is today. It has won innumerous awards time and time again, year after year by "The Cup Of Excellence" along with many other "Academy awards" for coffee beans. Once Hacienda's La Esmeralda Geisha became as successful and loved by the world, many other plantations tried to replicate this success by growing Geisha beans but came to realize just how difficult and fickle this bean is. Very few cherries develop on each bush to begin with, and those that do, are often of poor quality or don't mature to the standards which a Reserve or Estate would bring to auction. Though a few Costa Rican farmers as well as Guatemalan farmers have been able to grow tasteful Geisha beans, none have ever been able to reproduce the success that the Panamanian Hacienda La Esmeralda Gesha has. We have been fortunate to purchase a box of this incredible bean and are offering it here. We roast each order per request so, though it's recommended the Geisha bean be roasted Light, we will roast it to the power you prefer.
