The hi-hat , which sound great btw include a heavy bottom cymbal and a medium top cymbal and offers the kind of dry stick definition and brightness needed for various styles of music. Presented during the 2014 Musikmesse, this fresh bit of kit features a special Sound Edge and produces a sharp pedal 'chick'. Sound Edge To prevent airlocks, Paiste have added a special ribbed pattern to the lower cymbal. Thanks to this so-called Sound Edge, which is a technique that was first introduced back in 1967, air is able to escape from in between both cymbals at all times.
