Description: Pair of Antique Sterling Silver Candlesticks Click image to enlarge Description These impressive candlesticks are short but sizeable and they’ve been photographed holding 7” candlesticks. They are made from sterling silver although the bases have been filled to provide stability. They have large sconce bowls which will accommodate candles measuring up to 1.9cm (¾”) in diameter, short necks and circular bases with grooved detail. One base has its original leatherette covering but the other has been poorly re-covered with green felt. They are hallmarked for Birmingham 1910 with the maker’s mark of Martin, Hall & Co. These sticks are in beautiful condition with only a few pinhead dints to mention (one or two around the sconce rims) that are barely noticeable. Please be aware that, after 114 years, there will be some fine surface abrasions caused through handling. The leatherette covering has detached from a section of the base but is in good order otherwise. The base is in good order with just some silver polish staining. Re-covering the bases is fairly simple to do.
