Description: Wonderful pair of figural folk-art hand-made and -painted objects for the yard or garden (or for indoor display). These came from an estate auction in Alamance County, North Carolina. Possibly the same maker, but the girl in the bonnet with a watering can appears to be older than the tractor-driving figure; this is especially apparent in the hardware used for the metal stake and in the aged/distressed paint surface (I’ve included detail photos showing the paint surfaces of the girl figure. Also note that the girl is missing her feet; it appears to be a very old break. The girl’s watering can is a separate piece of wood attached to the main figure with a small piece of wood on back and six nails. Longest dimension of each is 20 inches for the girl in her big bonnet (including stake) and 24 inches for the tractor-driver in his big hat. The wood for each is about .75 inches thick. Also note that the girl is painted on both sides and along edges; tractor man is painted on one side and along edges. Please examine images for detail, as they are part of the description.
