A magnet does not stick to the lamp except for the cap and finial. The shades do not have cracks or chips. When you rub your fingertip along the bottom of the shade it feels slightly rough. The shade measures approximately 5 3/4” across the bottom and is about 5” tall. These are beautiful and working.
