Description: This lovely statue if finished in soft neutral shades of ivory and brown. Our lady's sash is a pale blue and Bernadette's dress is a very pale pink. The base and the hair on the figurines have touches of brown but the rest of the display is eggshell white with tiny areas of gold on the rosary beads. Mary is standing on a rock with a few red roses at her feet. Bernadette's empty basket is beside her since her wood gathering was interrupted by the appearance of the Blessed Virgin. This apparition took place on February 11, 1858 in Lourdes, France, and Our Lady of Lourdes is recognized today for healing the sick and curing disease at her shrine in Lourdes. The ceramic piece is 7 inches tall, with a base that is 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches. It was manufactured by Sanmyro, Japan and is an unusual vintage piece. It is in perfect condition. Thank you for looking.
