Orvis Recon 9' 7wt Fly Rod - 9 ft 7 Weight Old Model

Description: PLEASE READ: This is a used rod, and there are signs of wear.None of these effect the rod's performance, and they are just cosmetic. There are a handful of small impressions in the cork where the stripping guide left an imprint in the rod tube (shown in pictures). The guides are very large on this rod for how small the factory tube is, which caused these indents. There is some small chipping on the fighting butt where the filler fell out (shown in pictures). There are also a few minor scratches on the rod blank and reel seat. The aluminum rod tube has some scratches, but there are no dents and it still has a watertight seal! Other than that, this has been an amazing fly rod for me. I bought it new without tags back in 2019 and fished it a lot that year. This rod is extremely durable compared to other 7wt models, yet I never had an issue with swing weight. I only fished the rod in freshwater, but it handled windy days on the river. It was perfect for casting all day to dolly varden and smaller coho salmon. Unfortunately, it collects dust now since I moved. It's a little too big for the sea run cutthroat I have around me and I need a slightly longer rod for fishing my local lakes. This rod is perfect for larger trout, bass, smaller salmon, steelhead, and many other species! This is the previous Recon rod that Orvis rolled out to be the "mid priced" model in the 2010's. It even comes with a waterproof aluminum rod tube while the new Recons don't feature that anymore. Many people believe this was a better model than the 2020's version. I'm sad to see this old rod go, but I'd love for it to go to a new home where it gets used by someone who can love it as much as I did in 2019.
