Description: This is an original WW2 M1 Helmet and Liner! WW2 REAR SEAM SWIVEL BALE! Helmet is rear seam with swivel bales, manufactured by MCCORD RADIATOR COMPANY, STAMPED 884H. Liner is the P64. Issued between 1964 and 1969 the new helmet liner was made from laminated cotton duck. However, the P64 liner was also produced in laminated high strength nylon fabric between 1964 and 1974. The nylon helmet liner offered improved ballistic protection and was 2 to 3 oz heavier than the cotton duck version.Helmet is in good shape. Free from cracks, corrosion or rust. Has dents and wear from use (see pictures). STILL HAS ITS ORIGINAL CORK FINISH, PAINT AND OD T-1CHIN STRAP! VETERAN IDENTIFIED! Liner is in good shape and has its original suspension. Liner has stains and soiling from use and prolonged storage (see pictures). Liner is missing nape strap and headband. DATED 1972! Cover is in great shape! Developed during the Korean War, the reversible Mitchell pattern camouflage consisted of a green leaf 'summer' design with a brown cloud 'winter' pattern on the underside. It was first used in 1953 as the camouflage for the Marine Corps shelter half. The Mitchell pattern helmet cover was introduced in 1959 and was used by Marines and Army troops throughout the Vietnam War. The helmet cover featured buttonholes for attaching foliage and early versions had shallow cut flaps, which necessitated an additional slot for the helmet strap. DATED 1968!SET SOLD AS IS!
