Description: WW1 British “Brodie” Helmet. Is in very good condition for its age There are only 3 marking on the helmet. One is on the outside (shown on pictures) that says D/01 The other marking is the size of the helmet which is 6 7/8. With no additional markings (shown in pictures) And the last one which is very worn and hard to see, is in the liner, under the leather/fabric. Looks like it was stamped on with ink. You can make out the outline of the stamp, and some words, but is too heavily worn to read anything. But you can see that in the pictures as well These helmets came with many many different markings. Some markings more scarce than others. I believe this helmet is from 1917 from the worn liner stamp mark, and I think it used to say A.J BATES, Webster mass. Which is a liner stamp only from 1917. That is all of the information I have of the helmet. Time for it to go to a better home.
