Description: Original historic pastel color drawing from courtroom trials of Watergate sketched by Pat Davies. 14” x 17” on plain artist stock drawing paper, removed from the artist sketchpad. Original Watergate sketch of John J. Wilson by Pat Davies. Mr. Wilson was a legendary Washington lawyer who represented President Nixon’s White House Chief of Staff , H.R. Halderman and Chief Domestic Affairs Adviser John D. Ehrilichman, at the Watergate hearings. He also represented Halderman in federal court on charges of perjury, conspiracy and obstruction of justice for his involvement in the Watergate cover up, Bob Halderman was found guilty and served time in prison. He worked as an attorney in the Herbert Hoover and Franklin D. Roosevelt administrations. John Wilson represented Barry Goldwater successfully against a libel lawsuit. One of his other high profile cases was successfully defending Youngstown Sheet & Tube from government take over stemming from a labor dispute during the Truman presidency. The sketch is dated March, 6th 1974 Wilson in the top right corner.
