Total measurements: approx. 83x60cm Condition report: poster is in bad condition, torn in the middle - divided on two parts, shows fold lines, also shows tears and creasing, yellowing and stains, poster is also stamped. Poster will be shipped rolled, both parts together. Historical context: previously unrecorded poster related to communist five-year plan. It was designed for celebration of the very first accomplished five-year plan in Czechoslovakia in 1953. Symbol of nut is very interesting because cracking of a nut is part of Christmas traditions. The principle of this tradition is that each of the Christmas Eve diners chooses four nuts from the rack, which symbolize the four seasons. Gradually, the nuts are cracked one by one, and depending on what you find in them, you will find out how your health will be in the next year. A beautiful and healthy walnut kernel represents great health at that time of year, a rotten or black kernel represents illness or some health problem, and an empty nut even death (Topvanoce). Five-year plan is a plan for the development of the national economy for a period of 5 years.It is mainly used as a basic tool for managing a socialist economy, but it also exists, for example, in India and in the past in Japan, Pakistan, Argentina, South Korea, etc. (Wiki).
