Description: This vintage travel poster was created for the Messageries Maritimes, which was a French merchant shipping company founded in 1851. The ocean liner depicted here was called “La Marseillaise,” and was one of the largest and most luxurious cruise ships in the company's history. A. Glenisson designed the poster with the outline of a Greek-like God figure, as the route advertised went along the Mediterranean Sea. This version of the poster with German lettering was made to promote the shipping company in the German speaking countries. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters. This poster measures 12.5" x 19.5".
