Description: Original Pen and Ink Drawing of “Silent Sam”, the iconic bronze statue of a Confederate soldier by Canadian sculptor John A. Wilson, which once stood on McCorkle Place of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) from 1913 until it was removed by the university in 2018. The artist Lynne Srba Hoag created the drawing in 1978 for a marketing piece. The image was used only once, and the original pen and ink drawing has been privately owned since 1978. The drawing, mounting, and frame are all in excellent condition. The detail of the drawing includes the complete text of the mounted plaque (see photo). The picture is signed in the bottom right corner: "Lynne Srba Hoag 78". It was framed and matted in a gold wood frame, by the Print Shop, University Mall, Chapel Hill. Frame size is 14 ¼ inches x 11 7/8 inches. The visible image size is 9 1/4 inches x 7 inches.
