Description: Original rare FRUIT KING fruit crate label. From circa 1930s for fruits that were packed by Richey & Gilbert in Yakima, Washington. Great image of a king in the center with golden crown and tiny mustache with capelet that was used in the glorious Yakima Valley on a black background. This brand was started in 1935 and this is next to hardest of the set (apple king, pear king, cherry king, prune king, peach king, cot king) to find. Its also the only one which is not using a fruit in the name or on the label, but instead has a person. It was designed so it could be used for a variety of fruits. Label is 3.5" x 10 1/16".This is a unused new old stock fruit crate label that was leftover after packers switched from wooden boxes to cardboard in the 1960s - I only marked "used" so a person would not be confused with it being a reproduction as this is an original peach label.Label is in very good condition BUT THERE ARE SOME TINY TEARS ON THE BOTTOM WHICH HAVE BEEN REPAIRED WITH ACID FREE ARCHIVAL TAPE. - see scans. Label is sold AS IS so look carefully before you bid. I will combine shipping on auctions.
