Description: Up for sale is a nice antique Japanese Original Edo Period 19th Century Samurai Jingasa Helmet. This is a very nice piece of Japanese Craftsmanship. The helmet is made of laminated wood layering with a lacquer finish over the top. The exterior is black and the interior is red lacquered. The cloth chin strap is present and intact as shown in the photos. The piece is in good shape with minor wear/tear as shown in the photos which is expected based upon its age. I included many photos of the piece. I included several pictures from different angles and lighting positions to show the overall quality and size. The Jingasa is aprox. 15.00” long and aprox. 13.00” wide per the included photos. This Japanese Jingasa would make a very nice addition to anyone's interesting Japanese antique samurai armor collection. I ship in the continental US only (Hawaii OK).
