Description: The age of this great Robert Cox (1934 - 2001) painting is unknown, but listed California artist Robert Cox was a very prolific painter of stylized flowers and floral arrangements in the 1970s - 1980s. His paintings are very popular and highly collectible; this painting is prominently signed by Robert Cox and is an original piece and is likely around 35 - 40 years old. The frame, I believe, is much newer and may have been removed from an older frame or never originally framed at all. This beautiful piece measures about 16 inches in width and is 27.5 inches tall - a very nice medium - large size, tall and narrow, that will work in many places. The painting features a striking bouquet of pink, ivory, merlot, lavender and mauve flowers on a rich merlot background. Roses in full bloom and daisy-like flowers - zinnias or cosmos, perhaps? The vase that holds the bouquet has mauve and terra cotta tones that perfectly complement the flowers. The picture was custom framed by Picture Perfect Frames in Palm Coast, FL with a gilded gold ornate frame that has a natural linen inner border. The piece is in good vintage condition. The canvas is clean with no tears, holes, or stains. The frame and border are also clean and in good condition. The sides of the frame have some minor scuffing, consistent with normal wear and age of the piece. The hanging bracket is intact and sturdy. See photos for more details.
