Reid was the son of Major Nathan Reid who was one of the men who rescued Boone’s daughter from indian captivity and also served in the American Revolution at Brandywine, Stony Point, and Paules Hook. … In part it reads: “The whole of this stte is again in arms and in motion: nothing is now seen but the movement of soldiers, nor heard but the beating of drums. The frontiers have at length aroused the government.
