Description: An original antique map of part of the coastline of north west France and Belgium. It is titled 'Carte d'une partie des cotes de France depuis l'embouchure de la Somme jusque aux bouches de l'Escaut...' and it drawn and engraved by Ambroise Tardieu in 1820 and published in Paris in c.1824 in 'Precis des evenements militaires 1799-1807' by M Dumas. The plan shows the coastline from the mouth of the River Somme to the mouth of the River L'Escaut (Schedt). The printed area measures approximately 465mm x 365mm with margins beyond, blank verso. It is printed on good quality, hand-laid paper and has a strong, clear print impression. Condition report: Very good condition. Centrefold as published with minor creasing towards the top. Very faint age toning along the centrefold and one or two very faint age spots. Please study the photographs carefully to fully appreciate the condition.
