Description: This original etching by Joseph Pennell pencil signed Guaranteed titled in pencil low bottom perimeter OLD AND NEW MILLS VALENCIENNES. Also in pencil PROBABLY ALL DESTROYED BY WAR. Some dotted foxing in the center sky area. Printed on laid paper with watermark. One peculiarity that I find very interesting there are clearly ink fingerprints top left outside perimeter top right corner and see photos of reverse. Pennell was a stickler for doing his own printing. I strongly suspect that these are his fingerprints. Total paper size 11 1/2" x 17 3/4" and 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" from plate line to plate line. BO216
