Description: An original signed watercolor by John Irwin Friedman, also known as Partee, from 1967 (possibly 1969?). Extremely rare original by this San Francisco based painter who was partially known for his connection to Charles Manson. It represents two fishing boats and some houseboats with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. It is done in an Expressionist style (as most of his work is done) on a very nice textured type of paper. Just hints of subtle color with several pops of red. The use of colors is so subtle that I'm not sure if there is a slight yellowing or discoloration (mostly visible above the deck of the bridge) or if it was added intentionally. It's an extremely cool painting in its own right and as a one of a kind piece it's up to the individual to judge. I don't think it takes anything away from the presentation of the piece. The matting shows no discoloration or water staining. It is nicely framed and matted and the measurement of the frame is roughly 15"x26"x3/4". The black painted frame has very minor dings and scuffs. Overall it's a gorgeous piece. See pics for condition. Feel free to send me an email if you have any questions about the piece or to get a custom shipping quote. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
