OspEx 1.0 was the replate medium of choice for our lab for almost a decade. We used this formulations successfully until we recently developed OspEx 2.0; we continue to offer 1.0 for our customers that find it works best. OspEx 2.0 was developed after >15 years of growing orchids in vitro; this medium works well for species that don't like to throw good roots. It's good for plants with small-to-medium sized roots- use something like O156 or 80% O156 for stuff like vandas etc. with very heavy roots. Larger roots do better in media with high salts and sugars concentration. OspEx 2.0 offers reduced osmotic strength in conjunction with enhanced nutrition for extended durations in culture. This formulation has proven to be reliable across a broad range of genera. Contains gelling agent (agar). Add water to 1 liter final volume, mix thoroughly, pour, and autoclave. Please note: Orchid seed germination is a technical matter. If you are not familiar with the process, I recommend looking up some videos on YouTube, and doing some web searches for more information before buying media.
