Description: For your consideration is a one-pint stoneware canning jar, that was manufactured by the Weir Pottery Co. of Monmouth, Illinois. This jar received another patent on April 16, 1901; since that date is not embossed on the lid I assume it was made before that date. I removed the clamping device from the one-quart jar in the last picture and tried to put it on this jar; the holes are in the right places, but are of too small in diameter to accommodate the wire from the one-quart.The total height is approximately 5 7/8", the height to the rim is almost 4 3/4" and the bottom has a diameter of 3 1/2". One pint (16 ounces, two cups) of tap water, fills it nearly to the rim. This canning jar is an old item that was used. The clamping device that holds the lid in place is missing. On the rim, is a shallow chip. On the bottom are two minor chips. On the bottom are manufacturing errors. It needs to be properly cleaned. Please, carefully examine the pictures, as the pictures are part of the description. Whenever it is practical, I will combine shipping. Local pickup is encouraged, and is free. For bookkeeping purposes, this is lot DGW-1503. International buyers will be responsible for custom fees and other fees associated with shipping items.
