Description: Please contact us with any questions, and we are happy to provide additional photos. This is a first edition of Harriet Beecher Stowes 7th novel, Oldtown Folks, Fields, Osgoog, & Company, Boston, 1869. 1869 on title page and copyright page, and the book is the last on the list of her novel facing title page (with prices at $2). This is the green boards edition, with the blind stamping. Early printing. Needs attention, please see condition and photos. Oldtown Folks is written from the first-person perspective of a young man named Horace Holyoke, who describes his youth in fictional Oldtown, Massachusetts - including humorous depictions of daily life, behavior of local towns folk, and the adoption of Harry and Eglantine Percival. It is overlooked, but after Uncle Tom's Cabin, is often considered one Stowe's better works. We will be listing a couple of other early Stowe editions, so please check back. We carefully pack our books, and ship in boxes.
