Made out of woven natural reeds. Opening at the front, for wine bottle neck, and handle on the back. A couple of numbers are hand written on the wicker - 789 and 776. Not sure what the meaning is to them. Looks like it was handmade. As dark as the patina is, estimating it was made back in the 1950's - 1960's, could date back older. Looks wonderful sitting on a counter, or hung on a wall. * Condition - ( Vintage Used ) - Has characteristics all it's own. It's not perfectly angled, or squared. One side of the front is longer than the other side. Sits a bit tilted, but doesn't tip over. Handle tilts a bit to one side. Crack at the bottom base of handle. A few broken reeds in the front, and one on the top, on the outer edge. Still a beautiful old basket, and makes perfect decor for a farm style kitchen.
