Close inspection with the unaided eye reveals some marks where the canvas as sagged along the upper stretcher bar and areas of heavily applied varnish that is yellowing. The piece would benefit from a cleaning. There is a scratch approximately 1/2 inch long in the upper right. There is a tiny hole wearing on the canvas edge on the upper right. This worn area is approximately 1/4 inch in diameter. There is another small worn area on the left center edge of the canvas, this one approximately 1/4 inch also. Verso: inscribed on stretcher in artistâs hand: âCatch Me!â 16 x 20 O-Wieghorst No. 3176-A. Inscribed on canvas in artistâs hand: Reproduction rights reserved by the artist.
