There is, for instance, the story of my father's great uncle, Jeptha Terrill, pioneer of Harrison Township, who ran a mill in Springhill, grinding corn for the friendly Indians; and the story told by a great-aunt, Rachel Dallas Donavan, who lived as a child on the farm now owned by John Logan, some four miles south of Urbana. In her childhood, the present Springfield road was a path used by the Indians of southern Ohio to the cranberry marshes of Hardin county.
