VERY RARE JULY 4, 1942 EMPIRE CITY PROGRAM. This program has two of the greatest horse of all time! BOTHE ARE HALL OF FAMERS WHIRLAWAY & COUNT FLEET! They were the 5th & 6th Triple Crown Winners. COUNT FLEET was a virtually unknown 2 year old when he raced this day. He had just broken his maiden in his prior race. He won this day easily with Hall of Fame Jockey Johnny Longden aboard. It was COUNT FLEET'S 2ND CARRER WIN! COUNT FLEET would become one of the all time greats and he won the BELMONT STAKES by 25 lengths when he completed his TRIPLE CROWN SWEEP. Hard to notice but theres a small 1/2 " or so piece of clear scotch tape inside the back cover page. It's just there and I don't see any tear under it... takes nothing away from the program.
