Description: With an air cooled, vertical twin, cast iron cylinder and an aluminum cylinder head, rebuilding the Commando top end is not a matter of "if", it is a matter of "when". Some special tools and guidance through manuals and other Norton aficionados is a requirement. Generally speaking, it is much easier than dealing with overhead camshafts, long cam chains, shim valve adjustments, sensors and computer codes. It is also much more enjoyable. This kit is especially suited to the top end rebuild scenario, since in utilizing the kit, retorquing the head is necessary. This listing is for a Made in England, stainless steel cylinder head and cylinder barrel 'fixing" kit to replace the steel OEM head nuts, bolts, washers and barrel studs on any Norton Commando 850 from 1973-77. This kit is UNF, (Unified Fine Thread). This kit is designed to replace the OEM hardware which tends to rust. The kit consists of 32 stainless steel parts including the crankcase studs. The head bolts are nicely polished and beveled as are the barrel nuts and washers. The four "under the head" long Allen bolts (063085) and washers (064146) are not included. This is a very beautiful and rare kit. Limited quantity available.
