Description: Noritake Porcelain Cup And Saucer In The 1921 Tokio Pattern. Made In Japan, this delicate, multicolor floral design is a discontinued Noritake pattern. This antique cup and saucer have been used but remain in fine used condition, with some use wear obvious to some details of the design. (See detail photos.) The saucer shows some wear to the thin inner gold circle. The cup shows some wear to a similar gold line beneath the floral swags. The gold accents on the cup's handle also are partially worn off. There are a couple of irot dots seen on the inside of the tea cup. These result from natural levels of iron in the clay used for the porcelain and are often found in fine chinal. Both cup and saucer are free of chips or cracks. The floral pattern applied to the porcelain is typical of Noritake china made at this time, in that it is applied somewhat inexactly: some of the lines waver and the color registration appears slightly off. Cup diameter is 3-5/8 inches. Saucer diameter is 5-9/16 inches. Owned by one family over a century; stored in non-smoking environment. Please look closely at the photos and contact me with any questions.
