VG (very good): often played, with signs of wear and use. many light scratches or a few heavy ones. Background noise present, occasionally competing with music G (good): heavy scratching, coupled with consistent background noise. may skip on one or more tracks. P (poor): deep scratches and likely skipping. Jacket M (mint): only applies to records that are sealed, or with enough shrink wrap to protect original condition. NM (near mint): looks like new or next to it. EX: (excellent): very clean, though corners may be bumped, or edges slightly worn.
