The L-bracket allows you to mount your camera in a horizontal or vertical mode into a compatible Arca-type clamp or head. The bracket's anti-twist locator tabs hug the sides of the body to prevent the camera from moving while mounted to the base.The vertical component of the bracket is machined to maintain access to the memory card, battery compartment, and camera's side ports. The front and rear of the base have also been cut, so your finger can gain access to the lens release button or to lift the tilting rear LCD screen. It is Nikon's first Z-mount crop sensor camera body. NOTE FOUND ON THE NIKON FORUM: The only bracket I have found, that's designed for the Z50 is the “3-Legged Thing Zayla Dedicated L-Bracket.” One problem: It can't be used if you are using the FTZ Adapter. (Nikon's FTZ II adapter works as advertised, allowing full-featured use of most F-mount lenses on Z-mount cameras.)
