NicKey has been building and providing gasser, straight axle, a/fx style Kits to the market place since the 1960s. Originally engineered and designed by Bill Thomas/staff (Bill Thomas Race Cars) Anaheim California. The first kits were designed for first and second generation Chevy IIs. Installed and utilized on the infamous Dick Harrell, 1966 NicKey Nova. Google for historic pics and info. These Kits are only designed to fit the 1955, 1956 or 1957 Chevy / Chevrolet. (Tri-Five Chevys)( Belairs, Nomads, 150 sedans, 210 sedans, 150 hardtops, 210 hardtop, Delray, Wagon ) Installed properly they have a very good ride and go straight as an arrow. (Not like "back yard" engineered )No white knuckleing down the drag strip. We have driven down the track with one hand on the wheel and the other on the shifter @ approx 130mph, with no issues. Our straight axle cars have been driven on touring events (Power Tour), raced in numerous vintage Drag events and cruised down the highway at speed without issue. These are very complete Kits! STANDARD is the 3/8" wall, heavy duty tube axle. It's especially important for a long axle life for a Big Block, Blower, or wheel standing Gasser. They come STANDARD with 11" Wilwood finned 4 piston disc brakes. ALL the caster, camber, steering geometry, suspension, and brake system is engineered right in to the subframe. Our Jig welded subframes come with all fixed components welded into place for the best engineered Straight Axle Kit on the market! Installation by you or your welding shop is very easy to do using our installation guidelines. After the subframe is welded to your factory Tri-5 frame the rest of the new, proprietary components are all just bolted on. You can pick up the item or we can ship it to your door Via truck.
