Description: 2 Nice Original Antique Photos in Excellent c.1850-1860 Gutta Percha Case, Civil War Period DESCRIPTION: 2 nice early antique photographs taken c1870-80. Set in a nice 1/9 plate DOUBLE complete gutta percha, hard rubber case. Made to hold 2 separate images, made with 2 brass mats and no velvet pads. Nice geometric design in the case as shown and overall excellent condition. The 2 images are paper and were taken c.1870-80, then put in the earlier (Civil War) gutta percha case. Probably this was done by a later generation.....might as well update an existing early case and make use of it!!! Nice example. Later images are also very nice, especially the one wearing a hat and work shirt.
