Here is my entry level all-natural 3.0 (F) EARTH Model bass shakuhachi. It is made for the taller player with longer arms and larger hands. It is picture with an old standard 1.8 length for comparison only. This auction is only for the 3.0 EARTH Model Bass shakuhachi. This nice flute is made from medium light weight non-root bamboo personally sourced and selected to make my best entry level flutes. EARTH flutes are made for anyone who wants to experience the wide deep vibration of a shakuhachi but on a budget. These are full functional flutes playing into the third octave for any player with intermediate shakuhachi skills. I also studied the Watazumi style Honkyoku and bring that awareness of tone and ability into these flutes. All the fingering work at an intermediate level. The tuning is around Western F. For player of this music, or meditative blowing, Western pitch is not really a consideration. This flute is made for someone to sit alone and commune with nature than on a concert stage. It is warm, deep, flexible and friendly for any average player. It moves across octaves with relative ease and accuracy going from a deep velvety whisper to a vibratory organic scream. There are two cosmetic issues only - I had to plug and redrill a finger hole and the fourth hole up is on a node. These do not affect the playability whatsoever. As a result, I'm offering the flute at 30% discount from my usual $325 for a flute like this. Comes with the full care kit (color of bag may be different according to what I have in stock) and 100% technical support should the instrument ever need servicing. This means domestic shipping to me as opposed to Japan where shipping costs, insurance and tax will cost more than a repair. As with all my instruments, this one comes with an audition period and full refund or exchange if it’s not a good fit.
