The performances from the European tour accompanying this eternal classic album were filmed for theatrical release, but the perfectionist Prince was not satisfied, so he re-shot most of the live performances at his own Paisley Park Studios in the suburbs of Minneapolis, and this is what became "Sign of the Times". This is Prince's third film after Purple Rain (1984) and Under the Cherry Moon (1986), and he also directed it himself, so it's all about Prince.
