Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Bach’s thirty Variations are performed by pianist Pamela Pyle Resch, who debuted in London’s Wigmore Hall in 1973, followed by a European Tour. The New York Times reviewed her 1980 New York debut performance of The Goldberg Variations at Carnegie Hall: “Miss Resch’s remarkably poised performance of the lengthy Bach piece was a model of articulation and clarity. The pianist allowed herself a discreet amount of color and rhythmic freedom, which added interest to the work without distorting its shape.” Resch performed in major European and U.S. cities and on radio and television. Born in 1947, Pamela Pyle Resch was a prodigy who began playing piano at age three, taught by her violinist mother, who also taught piano. At the age of 16, she soloed with the San Jose Symphony Orchestra. At 19, she was crowned "Miss San Jose," a contest she entered "as a lark," also winning the "Miss Talent" and "Miss Congeniality" awards. She performed worldwide and was noted locally for salon performances held in her historic home. She passed away in October 2021 in San Jose, California at the age of 74. The CD was released in 1998, album notes by Dr. Thomas Wendel, American Beethoven Society.
