Description: Description Gibson / 1960 Hummingbird Fixed Bridge Heritage Cherry Sunburst ≪S/N:20954086≫ Gibson Montana Custom Shop The Hummingbird was Gibson's first square-shouldered dreadnought acoustic guitar, born in 1960. In the 1970s, Gibson's round shoulders were all replaced with square shoulders, ushering in a period of change. The foundation for this was the Hummingbird and the Dove, born in 1962. Originally, the Hummingbird was made to accompany singing, and its sweet, soft sound, commonly known as the "honey tone," blended well with singing, making it a popular model among folk singers at the time. This model is a reproduction of the vintage Hummingbird using the latest technology at the modern Montana factory! Made at the Montana Custom Shop in the USA. The body is of course all solid wood, with Sitka spruce on the top and mahogany on the sides and back. This top has been "thermally aged" to help reproduce the vintage sound! This new technology reproduces the characteristics of wood as it ages, the state in which the oil inside the wood is removed, and the state in which the wood itself is improved in quality! ! The pickguard with the hummingbird is a cast pickguard based on the manufacturing method of the time, and is engraved with the design. The bone nut, saddle, and bridge pins are made of gold plate Gotoh keystones. The crown inlay on the head and the double parallelogram inlay on the fingerboard are also beautiful. The scalloped X bracing and the dovetail neck joint with glue are familiar specifications. The thin lacquer finish is half the thickness of a regular gloss finish, and it is also V.O.S. (Vintage Original Spec) specification. It has a wide sound that is typical of a square shoulder, and it has good response, a firmness, and a mature sound with a sharp edge! *The V.O.S. (Vintage Original Spec) series has a special surface coating to reduce gloss, improve sound quality, and give it a vintage feel. Even new products may have some signs of wear, but this is not a defect. Therefore, please refrain from using polish, etc. *Actual images are posted, but the color and brightness may appear slightly different depending on your monitor settings.
